For a united, strong and developing overseas Vietnamese community

Speaking at the closing session, Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Le Thi Thu Hang said that in the coming time, the overseas Vietnamese community will continue to grow in number, expand in area, and become more diverse in composition. The community continues to deeply integrate into the host society in all aspects and increasingly becomes an important resource contributing to the development of Vietnam.

In that context, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that work on overseas Vietnamese will continue to be implemented more comprehensively and strongly to meet the requirements of national development in the new situation, worthy of the trust and expectations of the community of more than 6 million overseas Vietnamese.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang hopes that the people will continue to promote the tradition of mutual love and support, obey the law and actively integrate, contribute to the development of the locality; preserve the national identity and Vietnamese language, continue to contribute their heart, mind and strength to the cause of building and developing the homeland. In that process, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will continue to accompany and support the community.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang believes that with the deep concern of the Party and State leaders, the active and proactive participation of the entire political system and the joint efforts and consensus of the people at home and our compatriots abroad, on the basis of the achievements gained in recent years, the work of overseas Vietnamese will increasingly develop, making further progress, for a united, strong, developing overseas Vietnamese community, joining hands to realize the aspiration to develop the country to be more and more prosperous and happy.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to a number of groups and individuals with important and outstanding contributions to the work of overseas Vietnamese.

Delegates shared about the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence.

Previously, within the framework of the 4th Conference of Overseas Vietnamese around the world, four thematic sessions listened to presentations and discussion opinions of representatives of departments, ministries, branches, localities, intellectuals, experts, businessmen, and associations of Overseas Vietnamese.

At the session “Overseas Vietnamese and the development of high technology in Vietnam”, Vietnamese experts and scholars abroad shared the current development status of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industries in their home countries, and the potential for cooperation in these industries between Vietnam and the international community. Thereby, delegates proposed solutions for the development of the industry, as well as human resources for the semiconductor and AI industries in Vietnam.

The thematic session “Overseas Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs accompany the country” listened to the sharing of practices and experiences of overseas Vietnamese businessmen in promoting investment in Vietnam, solutions to promote connection and cooperation between overseas Vietnamese businesses and Vietnamese localities, strategies and solutions to promote trade of Vietnamese goods abroad, etc.

Thematic session "National solidarity, association work and the role of the young generation of overseas Vietnamese".

At the thematic session “National solidarity, association work and the role of the young generation of overseas Vietnamese”, delegates focused on discussing experiences and measures to strengthen national solidarity work; the role of overseas Vietnamese associations; opinions and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese on policies and laws, etc.

The thematic session “Overseas Vietnamese - Ambassadors of Vietnamese culture and language” discussed the situation and measures to preserve, promote and popularize Vietnamese cultural values ​​in the overseas Vietnamese community; maintain and spread the Vietnamese language in the community.
