Speaking to reporters on the morning of September 7, Le Hoang Kim, a student of class 11A10 at Luu Huu Phuoc High School (Can Tho City), was surprised to receive so many compliments from the online community over the past 4 days. The video is only 16 seconds long but has attracted nearly 10 million views and thousands of shares on social media platforms.

Give love on Independence Day

Kim said that at first, the group just wanted to record beautiful moments together, not expecting to receive so much attention and compliments from everyone. Some teachers even contacted them to ask to use the video to support teaching activities.

The group has 5 members including Le Hoang Kim, Huynh Minh Dieu (class 11A10), Nguyen Quoc Vinh Hung, Nguyen Trung Truc (class 12A1) and Le Thi Thu Truc (class 12A5), all students of Luu Huu Phuoc High School.

Kim said that on August 31, after receiving information that each citizen would receive 100,000 VND on Independence Day, Vinh Hung invited the whole group to contribute money to make small gifts for the elderly and people in difficult circumstances near his house.

"On the evening of September 2, after receiving money from the family, the group "finalized" the plan to cook vegetarian noodles and distribute a bottle of mineral water. In addition, the members contributed a little more money to make the meal more "topping"" - Kim said with a smile.

The group prepared 50 meals and nearly 60 bottles of water. Each meal included toppings such as eggs, bok choy, carrots, fried tofu, etc.

Get back many meaningful things

On the way to give gifts to everyone, the group met a boy selling lottery tickets. Vinh Hung came up to him and asked: "Hey kid, have you eaten anything? Do you want some fried noodles?"

I thought the boy would immediately accept the food, but he hesitated. Only when the group said it was free food did he smile and politely ask for another portion to bring home for his mother.

"That moment really moved me. Because no matter how difficult it was, the first person the boy thought of was still his mother" - Vinh Hung shared.

The group realized that: the way of giving is not as important as what one gives, it is the givers who receive the most meaningful things. Photo: NVCC

The team feels very happy and grateful that everyone has given so much love to the video. However, the greatest happiness lies not in the number of views or compliments, but in the fact that the charity message has touched the hearts of many people.

"I see that as a motivation for me and other young people to continue spreading small but meaningful actions. And through this occasion, the group hopes to inspire in each person the awareness of living kindly, knowing how to share and together build a more compassionate community" - Kim said with a smile.
