Vietnam National Administration of Tourism informed on October 14, in Hong Kong (China), Vietnam was honored by the World Travel Awards in two categories "Asia's Leading Destination 2025" and "Asia's Leading Heritage Destination 2025".
The above titles demonstrate the development of Vietnam's tourism industry in recent years.
The growing attraction of Vietnam tourism
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the fact that Vietnam continues to be named in important categories shows that Vietnam has an increasingly large attraction on the world tourism map.
The attraction comes from the majestic natural landscapes such as Ha Long Bay, Son Doong Cave, Mu Cang Chai terraced fields or Phu Quoc beach; the rich cultural heritage system recognized by UNESCO, thousands of traditional festivals, traditional craft villages and unique cuisine ..., helping the Vietnamese tourism brand become increasingly competitive at the regional and international level.
The international recognition comes amid strong growth in Vietnam's tourism industry.
According to data from the National Tourism Administration, in the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed 15.4 million international visitors, an increase of 21.5% over the same period in 2024.
Many destinations were honored in many different categories.
Along with the two national awards, nearly 40 Vietnamese businesses and destinations were also honored in other categories.
The capital Hanoi continues to affirm its attractiveness with two awards "Asia's Leading City Destination" and "Top Short-Breakfast City Destination".
Ho Chi Minh City was honored as the "Top Event and Festival Destination". The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism also received the award "Top Local Tourism Management Agency in Asia" for its effective initiatives in promoting and managing destinations.
Meanwhile, Hoi An maintains its appeal with the title "Leading Cultural City".
Ninh Binh, with its majestic Trang An landscape, won the "Emerging Destination" award, while Vung Tau was the favorite "Short Break Destination in a Coastal City"; Van Don - Asia's Leading Regional Airport…
In the aviation and accommodation sector, Vietnam Airlines was honored as "Leading Airline Brand".
In addition, many Vietnamese resorts and hotels were also named, showing that Vietnamese accommodation services are increasingly approaching the highest standards in the world.
Vietnamese tourism is increasingly occupying a place in the hearts of international tourists.
World Travel Awards (WTA) was founded in 1993 and is considered the "Oscars of the tourism industry".
The awards are held annually to honor outstanding service providers in the fields of tourism, travel, and hotels. The results are decided by votes from experts and the global public.
Continuously winning a prestigious award like WTA shows that Vietnam's tourism brand is increasingly gaining a solid foothold in the hearts of international tourists.
The award is also a motivation for Vietnamese tourism to continue to affirm its position in the future, and is the "golden key" for Vietnamese tourism to continue to rise and truly become a "Bright star on the Asian tourism map".
