VTC Online releases English speaking practice application Betia English

VTC Online and Hodoo Labs cooperate to release Betia English - an application that helps develop English speaking skills for Vietnamese users.

Betia English was researched and launched by Korean education company Hodoo Labs to bring optimal experiences in learning English for students.

Different from the traditional method of providing knowledge, Betia English builds a virtual world with a plot and characters with different personalities and professional characteristics, providing practical situations to help students practice and improve their speaking skills.

The story is about the peaceful world of Betia that was suddenly invaded and had its language stolen. Students will transform into a character in this world, complete speaking challenges to bring peace and regain the stolen language for Betia. The world of Betia is where students are free to explore English, adding motivation to cultivate new knowledge every day.

Rather than focusing on assessment through scores, Betia aims to motivate students to practice every day, making speaking English no longer a fear for them. Practical knowledge is deployed in the form of a story with a virtual character system that gives them the feeling of chatting with a real friend on the application.

Betia English is developed according to the task system model with a series of lessons and rewards, while increasing interaction with students to stimulate natural English pronunciation. Through the application of AI voice recognition technology, Betia English can identify, evaluate students' pronunciation and give detailed comments, creating a basis for students to control quality and build appropriate and effective study plans.

Betia's lesson content is built and developed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), compiled by Chungdahm Learning - Korea's leading educational group. Instead of just revolving around grammar or vocabulary lessons, Betia English uses the Chunking method to build a learning path. This is a method of learning a foreign language through sentence patterns, phrases or expressions in specific contexts, rather than learning individual vocabulary. This method not only helps readers improve their ability to memorize but also helps learners avoid misusing the meaning of words, while improving pronunciation and improving intonation when speaking.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Duy, Head of Betia English project of VTC Online shared that in the era of international integration and English is one of the most used languages, practicing and developing English speaking skills is extremely necessary. However, limitations in time and space for practice are barriers for Vietnamese students, because they do not always have many opportunities to practice. "VTC Online brings Betia English - Korea's leading English development application to Vietnamese students to contribute to creating a language playground - where students can actively practice and stimulate their interest in learning English", Mr. Duy said.

VTC Online plans to officially release the Betia application in the Vietnamese education market at the beginning of the next school year.
