On the morning of September 12, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thien Nhan Commune signed a decision to temporarily suspend the merger of the second branch of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School into the main school. Local leaders also requested the school's Board of Directors to urgently prepare facilities and environmental sanitation at the second branch to ensure teaching and learning, starting from September 15.
Ms. Le Thi Lan, Principal of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School, said that after the commune government decided to stop the merger, the school mobilized human resources and called for the participation of parents to clean the campus and rearrange classrooms and functional rooms at branch 2.

Some of the desks, chairs and teaching equipment at Branch 2 have been moved to the main school. The teachers and staff of the school are currently performing professional work, so the preparation of facilities to welcome the children back to school will be done during the 2 days off at the weekend.
On the morning of September 12, Mr. Thai Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, was also present at two branches of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School to inspect. According to Mr. Thanh, along with the implementation of the two-level local government model, educational facilities will also be arranged in a reasonable manner.
Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School is built spaciously, cleanly, has functional rooms, campus, teaching equipment, teaching staff... ensuring teaching and learning according to the new general education program.
Merging two branches is necessary, in line with the trend and planning of the school network, meeting the requirements of teaching and learning in the current period. However, the merger must create consensus and unity among parents, not causing disruption or interruption to the children's learning.

The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An acknowledged that the Thien Nhan commune government listened and decided to temporarily stop the merger of these two schools.
Mr. Thai Van Thanh also requested the Board of Directors of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School to quickly prepare facilities, arrange teachers, coordinate with the Parents' Representative Committee to welcome the children back to school next Monday, and have a plan to make up for missed classes for the students.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An requested the principal of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School to arrange a reasonable timetable and agree with parents on the time to pick up and drop off children at branch 2 to the main point to study foreign languages and information technology every week.
As Dan Tri reported, before the 2025-2026 school year, the People's Committee of Thien Nhan commune announced the merger of 196 students/5 grades (children from Quang Xa hamlet, Thien Nhan commune) at branch 2 to the main school (Duong Pho hamlet, Thien Nhan commune), more than 1km from the old location to study.

This policy did not receive consensus from parents of students in branch 2 because of concerns about the long distance to school, which could pose a safety risk to students. Most parents in Quang Xa hamlet work far away, while their grandparents are old, many of them cannot ride bicycles or motorbikes, so taking their children to school is very difficult.
Many parents then did not send their children to school and filed a petition to not merge branch 2 into the main school.
“If the merger is carried out, I will have to make an average of 8 trips a day just to take my children to school. We are very happy that the proposal not to merge the schools has been listened to by the leaders of Thien Nhan commune and the Nghe An Department of Education and Training,” said Mr. Phan Van The, grandfather of student Phan Thi My Duyen (grade 2, branch 2 of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School).
