According to the announcement from the leader of Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee, the decision to suspend Ms. Hue was made to stabilize the situation and create conditions for students to continue going to school. The leader also said that the reason for the suspension was due to problems arising from the incident that caused outrage in the community, especially among parents of students at the school. Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee affirmed that in order to have a basis for further handling, it is necessary to wait for the conclusion from the authorities. This decision has been announced to Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Students to inform all parents of students.
That same morning, parents brought their children back to school after the situation stabilized.
Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, on September 26, 75 students of this school had symptoms of nausea and stomachache after breakfast at school. Kim Thuy commune authorities coordinated with teachers and parents to take the students to the hospital for health check-ups. Of the 75 students, 40 had to be hospitalized, the remaining 35 were monitored locally.
The situation became more tense when information spread on social media that Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue prevented the students from being taken to the hospital even though they had symptoms of poisoning. This incident further aroused the anger of the community and parents when a clip recording the scene in the school's medical room was widely shared.
After the poisoning incident, the parents of 75 boarding students decided not to send their children to class. These students all come from remote villages and stay at the school from Monday to Friday every week. Many parents expressed their loss of faith in the school’s management, especially Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue, the person in charge of boarding.
The dialogue took place yesterday afternoon, October 1, between leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri, the government, the Board of Directors of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and parents.
