Female student brutally assaulted: Two families agree to reconcile

(Dan Tri) - After receiving the police's conclusion, Viet Duc College will, depending on the level and nature of the incident, have an appropriate form of handling for the male student who assaulted the female student.

On October 18, a representative of the Office of the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that they had received a report from Viet Duc College (located in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province) regarding the incident in which a female student was brutally assaulted by a male classmate.

According to a report from Viet Duc College, the incident occurred during the break after the second period on the morning of October 15. At that time, male student NVGB (class 10H1) attacked female student NTNL (class 10H2). Many students used their phones to record and take pictures of the incident.

These students participate in the cultural education system of the Vinh Vocational Education Center in coordination with the Viet Duc College, training them according to the model of both vocational and cultural studies.

After receiving information about the incident, the leaders of the Training Department coordinated with the Student Affairs Department of Viet Duc College to stabilize the situation and invited the parents of the two students mentioned above to come and clarify the incident.

At the meeting, the cause of the incident was determined to be a conflict and challenge between the two students.

The school representative discussed, reminded, pointed out the students' wrongdoings, asked both students to write a report with confirmation from their parents and promised to correct the situation in the future.

At the meeting, the two families agreed to reconcile and take the beaten female student to the hospital for examination and treatment of her injuries. The costs of examination and treatment (if any) will be paid by the parents of the male student B.

Viet Duc College also temporarily allowed the two students involved to stay home from school so that their families could educate, encourage them mentally, and strengthen their spirit.

In this report, Viet Duc College informed that on the evening of October 15, a number of Facebook pages posted a video of the incident and it was shared by the online community. This stirred up public opinion in society, bringing a bad image to the school and the students themselves and their families.

Viet Duc College reported the incident to the Internal Political Security Department, Nghe An Provincial Police and Truong Vinh Ward Police to investigate, clarify, and take measures to ensure security and order, avoid conflicting public opinions, false information, and negative impacts on students and their families.

The school representative said that they have provided the case files to the police for clarification and strict handling according to the law. Once the police have concluded, depending on the level and nature of the case, the school will have appropriate further handling to deter and educate the students.

As Dan Tri reported, on October 16, a clip over 2 minutes long appeared on social media recording a violent incident that occurred in a classroom.

In the clip, a male student grabs a female student’s hair, pushes her face down on a chair, and repeatedly punches her in the head. Many other male students stand around watching, shouting and cheering. Some of the male students call the victim a “vegetable seller”.

The male student held the female student's hand tightly and called his classmates to come and take a clear picture of her face.

The victim was then dragged off the chair by the male student by the hair. The female student resisted and was repeatedly punched in the head and face.

Not stopping there, the male student dragged the female student into the hallway, continued the violent behavior, choked her neck, and slammed her head against the wall. The female student was dragged into the classroom by her hair, pressed down on the table, screaming in pain from being repeatedly hit in the head.

The entire process of this male student assaulting his female friend was cheered on by his male friends.
