Right from the beginning of the rainy season, many tourists have expressed concerns that their trip to Hue will not be complete. Nguyen Thai Ha, a tourist, wrote on a Hue travel review site: "I plan to go to Hue at the end of September, but I heard that there will be storms coming, I don't know if I should go or not because I heard that rain in Hue is very sad."
This concern is not unique, it is even a common concern of many tourists. In 2024, I have heard many tourists have to change direction, find destinations less affected by the weather, instead of the previous plan to go to Hue. The reason they changed their decision is because they think that visiting heritage sites and traveling to tourist destinations is quite inconvenient due to the frequent heavy rains in Hue. The lagoon experiences are also not favorable and there is a risk of unsafety.
In fact, tourism in the rainy season anywhere is more or less affected, especially the limitation of outdoor activities such as exploring nature and landscapes. Some tours may be suddenly canceled due to bad weather conditions affecting the safety of tourists and means of transport. Heavy rain can also cause flooding, slippery roads, delay or disruption of travel. Besides, tourists may not have the full experience as expected due to bad weather, restrictions in sightseeing and photography.
In Hue, the period from September and October of this year to February and March of the following year is considered the peak season for international visitors, but this is also the rainy and stormy season that often affects the Central region. The number of visitors in general, especially domestic visitors, will decrease due to unavoidable reasons mainly due to the weather.
Although in recent years the locality and tourism industry have changed direction, adding more suitable experiences to adapt to the weather; travel companies, hotels and other accommodation establishments have introduced many stimulus policies, increased services and service quality included in promotional packages. However, from the perspective of tourists, the worry of traveling in the rainy season still remains.
Ms. Duong Thi Cong Ly, Vice President of Hue City Tourism Association, Director of Vietnam - Hanoi Tourism Joint Stock Company's Hue Branch, said that even for foreign visitors, when asked about the reason for their short stay, the answer is also due to the rain. For domestic visitors, in addition to tours to visit heritage sites and lagoons, they do not know much about indoor experiences, partly because the products have not been promoted strongly, and partly because some travel agencies are not interested in introducing them.

Hue is still lacking service investors, lacking shows that are attractive enough to attract visitors and supplement the experience for visitors in the rainy season.
