Lychee growing area over 200 years old attracts tourists

These days, farmers in Thanh Ha district ( Hai Duong province) are harvesting lychees. At this time, many gardeners have taken advantage of the lychee gardens full of fruit and red ripe skin to create tourist attractions, attracting visitors to check in.

Thanh Ha lychee growing area has a history of more than 200 years. Previously, in 2016, the ancestral lychee tree planted in Thuy Lam village, Thanh Son commune, Thanh Ha district was recognized as the oldest lychee tree in Vietnam, with an age of 200 years.

According to information from the People's Committee of Thanh Ha District, during the annual lychee harvest season, the lychee tree conservation area in Thanh Son Commune and the Dong Man eco-tourism area in Thanh Khe Commune are the places that attract a lot of tourists to visit and take photos.

According to statistics in the 2022 lychee crop, Thanh Ha district welcomed over 20,000 visitors to experience the fruit, including many international delegations. Most recently, on June 15, for the first time, Thanh Ha district welcomed a group of nearly 30 tourists, representatives of Japanese enterprises, to survey the purchase and import of lychees.

According to the People's Committee of Thanh Ha District, this locality currently has 3,265 hectares of lychee cultivation, with an expected total output of 40,000 tons this year. In addition to domestic consumption, Thanh Ha lychee is being purchased and exported by businesses to many countries such as China, the US, Japan, Australia, etc.
