Strategic connection between Dong Nai - Kyushu
Kyushu is the third largest island of Japan, comprising seven prefectures: Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Nagasaki, Oita and Saga. With a population of approximately 13 million and an area of 35,640 km², Kyushu is notable for its strong economic development, especially in industries such as automobiles, semiconductors, heavy industry, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and aerospace.
In the aviation sector, Kyushu has three typical industrial clusters: QAN (Kyushu Aerospace Network), focusing on research and development of aviation technology, especially aircraft engines; FAIN (Fukuoka Aircraft Industry Network), linking businesses in the aviation industry in Fukuoka province; NAIC (Nagasaki Aerospace Industrial Cluster), specializing in the production and assembly of aviation components, with the participation of large companies such as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and IHI Corporation.
Notably, Kyushu currently has 24 enterprises certified with JIS Q 9100, an international standard for quality management systems in the aerospace industry, allowing the production of aviation components.

Meanwhile, Dong Nai is one of the leading localities in the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), with more than 41.4 billion USD from more than 2,200 projects in 51 countries and territories. Of which, Japan currently has about 285 investment projects in Dong Nai, with a total registered capital of nearly 6 billion USD.
Dong Nai currently has 81 industrial parks and 63 planned industrial clusters, with a total area of over 42 thousand hectares. New industrial parks such as Xuan Que - Song Nhan, Bau Can - Tan Hiep and Long Duc 3 are being developed with the orientation of green industry, high technology and supporting industry.
Prospects for sustainable cooperation
During the working session, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Nai Industrial Parks and Economic Zones Pham Viet Phuong proposed cooperation with METI - Kyushu to promote investment in the strengths of the Kyushu region, especially in the fields of semiconductor technology and aviation.
Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Nai Industrial Parks and Economic Zones Pham Viet Phuong pledged that Dong Nai province will create favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to access clean land funds, prioritize high-tech and environmentally friendly projects, and ensure stable policies and comprehensive support for investors.
Mr. Katsunori Otsu, Director of the International Project Promotion Division of METI - Kyushu, highly appreciated the rapid development potential of Dong Nai and said that this is an ideal location for Japanese enterprises to invest, especially in the fields of supporting industries, semiconductors and aviation. He said that enterprises in the Kyushu region are very eager to invest in Vietnam, especially Dong Nai province, a locality with advantages in convenient transport infrastructure, close to Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc, Secretary of the Japan Desk, proposed that METI - Kyushu introduce a Japanese enterprise as a model to call for other enterprises to invest in Dong Nai. This proposal received high consensus from both sides, and said that there will be further exchanges through online working sessions to specifically implement cooperation issues in the future.
This working session marks an important turning point in promoting investment cooperation between Dong Nai province and Kyushu region. With strengths in strategic industries and sustainable development orientation, the two sides expect to build an efficient supply chain, improve competitiveness and contribute to the economic development of both localities.
The two sides also discussed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Japanese Desk, a unit of METI - Kyushu and Dong Nai's infrastructure companies - KN Holdings - a company developing many strategic industrial parks in Dong Nai such as Long Duc 3 (244ha), Nam Long Thanh and Dong Long Thanh (each phase 1 area is 1,000ha). According to the proposal, the MOU will be effective for 3 years, focusing on supporting Japanese enterprises - especially small and medium enterprises - to invest in Vietnam through incentives on land lease, infrastructure cost exemption and reduction, and legal and human resource support services. The MOU is expected to be a solid legal basis for implementing specific cooperation activities, including organizing investment promotion conferences, sharing market information and supporting enterprises in the investment process.

This is considered an important first step for a series of extensive cooperation between Dong Nai and Kyushu, contributing to the Vietnam - Japan economic relationship that is on the rise.Bottom of Form
