The pull of the three pillars
As if there is competition, in 2022 and 2023, all three communes of Tra Tan, Dong Ha, and Tan Ha nearby were recognized as meeting the standards of advanced new rural communes. In 2024, both communes of Tra Tan and Dong Ha met the standards of model new rural communes and 2/12 villages of both were recognized as smart villages. In this merger, all three communes merged into Tra Tan commune. Therefore, it is not surprising that wherever you go in the commune, you can see beautiful houses, a spacious street corner, and straight roads...
However, the difference is that in that large area of 135.94 km2 , there are places with fertile land, taking advantage of the water flowing through La Nga River, so the crops are diverse, creating prosperity. That is where famous delicious 3,4 star OCOP products have appeared and participated in e-commerce floors for a long time. But next to it, there are also areas of sandy land, lacking water, with only cashew trees and rubber trees standing and not bringing the expected results.
Therefore, the restructuring of the agricultural sector associated with the transformation of crop and livestock structure in the commune is just a continuation to suit the characteristics of each land area. That means, places without water cannot grow perennial crops, there are areas focused on livestock, there are areas planned for industrial and handicraft development.
In such a clear position, up to now, the area bordering Dong Nai province in the old Dong Ha commune has formed 3 industrial clusters, attracting domestic and foreign investors to invest in 13 large and small projects with a total capital of more than 3,000 billion VND. Some factories have come into operation, notably the shoe factory in Nam Ha Industrial Park, which has created jobs for thousands of workers in the journey of creating jobs for 7,000 workers of the unit.

In the immediate future, the activities in these industrial parks have spread the trend of industrial investment in the border area of the development driving force of neighboring provinces and cities, extending from Tan Minh commune to Suoi Kiet commune and Tra Tan... In that wave of spread, recently many corporations and enterprises have come here to register to invest in industrial parks and industrial parks that are included in the provincial planning in the commune. Therefore, the commune's proposal to the province to establish a project for the Southern Industrial Park of the province with a scale of 300 hectares on the land area of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group is only a matter of time.
From the place where many people gather to work at the factories as mentioned above, the area of the old Dong Ha commune is considered to have a boom in trade and services. For investors, efforts are being made to build a clean water factory with a total capital of 60 billion VND, a 110kV transformer station with an investment capital of about 200 billion VND to serve the industrial parks, and at the same time for daily life, in the long term, the adjacent residential areas that have been formed will have people living there. For the people and businesses, a series of types of trade and services are being opened to serve workers and experts working. As for the state, traditional markets that meet the standards in the new countryside, systems of convenience stores, and mini supermarkets have been invested in the commune, meeting the shopping needs of the people.
Therefore, assessing the 3 economic pillars of Tra Tan commune, it can be said that all 3 are developing very strongly and are converging many factors that show that they will break through in the next term. That is also the reason why the budget revenue of the 3 communes before the merger reached nearly 234 billion VND, an increase of 250%.
Convergence of strengths
During the 2025-2030 term, the Tra Tan Commune Party Committee identified the common task of mobilizing resources to invest in economic development in the direction of increasing the proportion of industry - services, reducing the proportion of agriculture... Accordingly, choosing agricultural production to focus on quality, that is, focusing on production in the direction of safety, organic, closed circulation and building brands and standards; promoting the effectiveness of production chains in agriculture; aiming at high-tech agricultural production in some areas. Strive for an average revenue of 130 million VND/ha/year or more, organic livestock...
Meanwhile, industry and handicrafts will attract and effectively use resources to develop production, business and invest in socio-economic infrastructure to accelerate the industrialization and modernization process. Strive to form 2 new industrial clusters; attract capable enterprises, use modern, environmentally friendly technology, in line with the development orientation of the province and commune, especially attract investment in industries that promote local advantages. Actively coordinate with departments and branches in the province to complete procedures to form the Southern Industrial Park of the province.

As for trade - services, tourism, in addition to developing diverse types, is to promote and exploit the advantages of natural resources, geography to develop rural tourism, community tourism, eco-tourism, experience associated with preserving and promoting national cultural identity and local products. At the same time, promote the advantages of the La Nga riverside area, exploit Tra Tan lake to call for and attract investment in tourism development.
It is worth noting that in the key tasks, breakthroughs and key programs, the Tra Tan Commune Party Committee pays attention to industry and tourism. That is to call for and encourage the development of industry and handicrafts; mobilize all resources to complete infrastructure to serve the development of the southern industrial park of the province; call for investment to develop rural tourist spots in the west of the commune; promote the development of trade, services and tourism.
If compared, it shows that all three economic pillars in Tra Tan commune are strong, very favorable for further development in the coming time. The latest thing is that Tra Tan has to worry about "reclaiming" the tourism sector, to meet the entertainment needs of people, workers and experts working in industrial parks. That is not too difficult, when the land fund for tourism development is located in the West of the commune, with the terrain having La Nga river flowing through, bordering the primeval forest area of Dong Nai which has been included in the planning.
In the context of many opportunities and challenges, the Party Committee and People of the commune continue to maximize the advantages and potentials of the locality and revolutionary traditions, the spirit of solidarity, hard work and creativity, determined to overcome difficulties and challenges, strive to successfully complete the goals and tasks set out in the 2025 - 2030 term.
