Building smart new rural areas in Dong Thanh

With its location near the commune center, along provincial road 320C, and Lanh market as a trading place not only for the commune but also for the whole region..., zone 13, Dong Thanh commune, Thanh Ba district has many conditions for socio -economic development. Selected as a model new rural residential area (NTM), the Party Cell and the Front Work Committee of the zone have focused on reviewing and evaluating the criteria, while actively propagating and mobilizing people to implement and improve the criteria.

Leaders of Zone 13 surveyed the locations for installing surveillance cameras at traffic hubs in the area.

In 2023, with the support of the commune, district, and central budgets and contributions from the people, the cultural house of the area will continue to be renovated, upgraded, and equipped with a wifi system, security cameras, welcome gates, auxiliary works, and a football field. Thanks to this, organizing meetings and cultural and sports activities in the area will be more convenient.

Continuing to improve traffic criteria, the area coordinated with the Commune People's Committee to do a good job of site clearance, repair and upgrade the road from the cultural house of the area to Company Z121, the road to Lanh market... Up to now, 100% of provincial, inter-commune and inter-village roads through the area are paved; 4/4km of internal roads are hardened, implementing self-management of traffic safety roads, waste-free roads, lit roads, green, clean and beautiful.

With the attention of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune, providing trees, Zone 13 registered to build a beautiful model road, plant trees, create a clean, airy and spacious landscape. The Front's working group mobilized people to register to buy trash cans for households on the 320C road axis; mobilized each household and each hamlet to decorate and install street lights at night...

Identifying one of the key tasks of building a new rural area is to improve the material and spiritual life of the people, the work of developing production and increasing income has always received special attention and focus. In 2023, the average income of people in the area is 58.7 million VND/person/year, the whole area has only 6 poor households, all of which are households under social protection according to regulations and due to serious illness.

In early 2024, immediately after being recognized as a model new-style rural residential area, the Party Cell, the Front Working Committee and the people of Zone 13 continued to join hands and build a smart new-style rural residential area. In particular, party members are both the pioneers, the first steps, and the ones who explain so that people can understand and follow, thanks to which, during the implementation process, people have actively participated. Up to now, in addition to the free wifi system installed at the cultural house of the area to serve people to access, look up information, and learn business models; nearly 100% of households in the area have been covered by fiber optic broadband internet; over 90% of people use smartphones that integrate many applications of banks to transfer money, scan QR codes in payment transactions. The community digital technology team of the area was established, regularly updating and instructing people on knowledge about digital skills and basic information security. In addition to the zalo group of the area, zalo group of the Party cell, zalo group of the Party committee, 5 sub-areas in the area have also built zalo groups to exchange and learn useful information about science and technology , mechanisms, policies...; consult, ask questions, and monitor the contents in the area.

Comrade Vi Thi Thao - Secretary of Party Cell 13, Dong Thanh Commune said: Thanks to the implementation of digital transformation in the construction of smart new-style rural residential areas, people's lives have been improved. Previously, whenever there was work and information to be communicated to the people, the leaders of the area had to go to each house, but since the implementation of the construction of smart residential areas, the implementation of work has become much faster, more accurate, and more convenient thanks to the establishment of an information system via zalo groups, loudspeakers... helping all families in the area to grasp the information and implement. In the future, after installing the surveillance camera system on the roads and alleys, the server will be brought to the cultural house of the area, not only creating conditions for managing, grasping, operating, handling, and resolving activities occurring in the area in a timely and effective manner, but all people can also look up, reflect, participate in monitoring, and urging each other.
