Building Danang University of Economics into a prestigious policy consulting training center

GD&TĐ - Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the University of Economics - University of Danang has set the goal of becoming a key school in training.

On August 30, the University of Economics - University of Danang held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its establishment and development (1975 - 2025), marking the journey of continuous efforts, innovation and dedication to the cause of Vietnamese higher education.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Da Nang City government and several localities in the Central Highlands region, domestic and foreign businesses and partner organizations, along with staff, lecturers and students of the school through many generations.

From its predecessor, the Faculty of Economics of Danang University (1975), then developed into Danang University of Technology (1976), to date, the University of Economics - Danang University has firmly affirmed its position as one of the leading training institutions in the country in the fields of economics, management and business.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Huy, Principal of the University of Economics, University of Danang, presented a speech at the Ceremony.

The school currently has 12 faculties, 7 departments, 3 centers, 1 department and 1 scientific journal, with a training scale of more than 15,000 students, trainees and postgraduates, spread across 19 fields with 37 university majors, 8 master's majors, 4 doctoral majors and 1 international joint program.
The teaching staff consists of 401 staff, including 3 professors, 31 associate professors, 180 doctors and 187 masters. This is an important foundation for the school to effectively implement high-quality training programs, internationalization and in-depth research; providing high-quality human resources for the Central Highlands and the whole country.

In international cooperation activities, the school constantly expands relationships, implements projects related to innovation, technology application and sustainable development, with the support and funding from the European Union (Erasmus+), British Council, ASEA-UNINET, JICA, DAAD, AUF and the governments of France, Belgium, Canada... At the same time, the cooperation network is increasingly expanded in Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, China through credit recognition, student and lecturer exchanges.

Leaders of University of Economics - University of Danang received the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Huy, Principal of the University of Economics - University of Danang, said that entering a new phase, the school continues to adhere to the three pillars of education: "Liberal - Self-reliance - Usefulness", along with the core values: "Integrity - Respect - Sympathy - Cooperation - Creativity", aiming to become a research-oriented university with international prestige, making practical contributions to the cause of educational innovation and sustainable development.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of Danang University, said that in the domestic and international context, especially when Danang city after the merger with the expanded space, many new models and growth drivers are being implemented such as: Free Trade Zone, International Financial Center... are great opportunities and chances for the University of Economics - Danang University to make a breakthrough in development. The school needs to focus on building a development strategy with the aspiration: Determined to build the school to become the leading center for training economic management staff in the country, aiming at the region and the world; a prestigious policy consulting center in the Central region and the whole country.

On this occasion, the University of Economics - Danang University was honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the Government, the People's Committee of Danang City and Certificates of Merit from the Chairmen of the People's Committees of Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Dak Lak provinces; Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR. In addition, 2 groups and 10 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training. 5 groups and 10 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Director of Danang University.
