igus:bike made from recycled plastic arrives in Vietnam on a journey around the world

On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, igus® presents a unique igus:bike made from recycled plastic, requiring no lubrication.

With a mission to raise awareness of the “circular economy of plastic”, this innovative orange bike will travel through 16 countries in 12 months, completing a journey of 6,000 km. Starting from Germany and stopping by Singapore, igus:bike is currently exploring the beauty and culture of Vietnam.

The igus:bike journey across Vietnam starts from the bustling Ho Chi Minh City, travels to the sunny beaches of Phan Thiet, then passes through Da Nang with its famous bridges and landmarks, and ends in the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi . At each stop, igus® not only introduces sustainable technology but also spreads the message of innovation and connection for a greener future.

The bicycle is made up of 90% plastic, of which more than 50% is recycled plastic from waste, such as fishing nets and plastic bottles. Thanks to the innovative "motion plastics" technology, the igus:bike is rust-free, maintenance-free and oil-free. This demonstrates igus®'s commitment to the transition to a sustainable circular economy.
