Latest rankings of Vietnam women's volleyball team at the world championship

VHO - The Vietnamese women's volleyball team suffered a 1-3 defeat against the world's third-ranked team Poland in the opening match of Group G of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship.

In this match, the Vietnamese women's team had a dream start when they unexpectedly won 25-23 in set 1.

The Vietnamese girls (in blue shirts) deserve to receive praise after their performance against Poland.

The Polish players showed their class when they won 25-10 and 25-12 in the next 2 sets.

The surprise happened at the beginning of set 4 when the Vietnamese women's team had an impressive start, leading 6-1 at times.

But Poland once again showed their class by continuously scoring points, tying the score at 9-9.

The Vietnamese girls tried very hard to tie the score at 11-11, then continuously chased the score but in the end still lost 22-25.

Losing 1-3 to Poland, the Vietnamese girls deserve praise, especially for what they showed in set 1 and set 4.

In the remaining match in Group G, the German women's team won 3-0 (25-22, 25-8, 25-20) against Kenya.

After the first round of matches, Germany and Poland both have 3 points, sharing the top 2 positions, but Germany is on top thanks to a better sub-index.

With a 1-3 loss to Poland, the Vietnamese women's team temporarily ranked third, above Kenya (lost 0-3 to Germany).

The loss to Poland did not affect the position of the Vietnamese women's team in the world rankings as the team is still ranked 22nd.

In the second match of Group G taking place on August 25, the Vietnamese women's team will meet the German women's team, while Poland will face Kenya.
