Handling nearly 2,300 cases of students violating traffic laws

Over the past month, Hanoi traffic police have handled nearly 2,300 traffic violations involving students. They have verified and handled 275 cases of vehicles being handed over to unqualified people.

On November 27, information from the Hanoi Police Traffic Police Department said that from November 1 to November 24, the city's traffic police handled nearly 2,300 traffic violations involving students. Of these, 517 were driving while unqualified, and 275 were fined for handing over vehicles to unqualified people.

Police said they will continue to verify and handle cases of delivering vehicles to unqualified people.

On the road, the main traffic violations committed by students are: not wearing helmets (more than 1,900 cases), carrying too many people (17 cases), not obeying traffic lights (11 cases)...

This unit assessed that after a long period of implementing the peak period, the number of students violating and driving on the road has tended to decrease. Parents have been more strict in managing the vehicles given to their children to drive.

In the coming time, the handling of traffic violations involving students will continue to be strictly implemented by traffic police teams, special task forces, etc., even though the peak period has ended.

According to Tuoi Tre Online 's records on the same morning in the Thanh Nien, Quan Thanh, Thuy Khue streets... (Tay Ho district, Hanoi), the situation of students violating and driving on the road is no longer common, however, there are still many subjective cases, thinking that the distance is short so they violate.

The 14-year-old boy was riding with his friend but was not wearing a helmet. "I was only going to have breakfast about 100 meters from school so I was careless. Now I have to call my dad to bring the paperwork to resolve the issue," he said.
