3 counterfeit cosmetics were recalled

Three cosmetics under the Vinamake brand have been suspended and recalled nationwide after the Economic Police Department of Phu Tho Province Police concluded that they were counterfeit.

Nationwide recall of 3 cosmetics of Vinamake brand

The Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) has just announced the suspension of circulation and nationwide recall of 3 products of the Vinamake brand, including cosmetics: DR.Hair ginger shampoo, registration number: 24/24/CBMP-HB; DR.Ginger shampoo, registration number: 23/24/CBMP-HB; and Nano silver feminine hygiene solution with perfume scent, registration number: 122/23/CBMP-HB.

The organization responsible for bringing the product to market and manufacturing: Vinamake Joint Stock Company (address at Tan Thinh Ward, Hoa Binh City, Hoa Binh Province; now Hoa Binh Ward, Phu Tho Province).

3 products were recalled nationwide after police determined they were counterfeit.

Reason for recall: cosmetic product samples were appraised at the Institute of Criminal Science, Ministry of Public Security , and determined that the above product samples did not detect a number of substances as declared in the ingredients and on the product label and packaging; and the Economic Police Department of Phu Tho Provincial Police concluded that they were "counterfeit goods", based on the provisions of Point b, Clause 7, Article 3 of Decree No. 98/2020/ND-CP dated August 26, 2020 of the Government.

Previously, the Department of Health of Phu Tho province revoked the cosmetic product declaration receipt number for the above 3 cosmetic products, according to the request to revoke the product declaration receipt number of the Investigation Police Department of Phu Tho Province Police.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the health departments of provinces and cities to strengthen communication and information to businesses and cosmetic users and to educate local people not to trade or use the above-mentioned violating products; return the products to the suppliers and promptly report to the authorities when detecting the above-mentioned violating products; and recall the violating products.

Health departments direct testing centers to increase sampling and quality inspection of cosmetic products circulating in the area; set up hotlines to receive information about fake cosmetics, smuggled cosmetics, and cosmetics of unknown origin in the area to promptly coordinate with competent authorities to verify and handle.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requested the Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health to coordinate with relevant agencies to supervise Vinamake Joint Stock Company in recalling violating products.
