6.5 billion VND to implement the project "Conservation, restoration and improvement of ecosystem services on carbon absorption and storage in natural forests assigned to community management"

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam has just signed a decision approving the project document "Conservation, restoration and improvement of ecosystem services on carbon absorption and storage in natural forests assigned to community management" sponsored by Etifor Srl Benefit Corporation of Padua University (Italy).

The project aims to promote the conservation, restoration and improvement of ecosystem services of carbon sequestration and storage in natural forests managed by the community in the northern mountainous area of ​​Huong Hoa district. The implementation period is from March 19, 2024 to the end of February 2028 with a total implementation capital of 250,000 EUR, equivalent to 6.5 billion VND.

The project will implement 8 groups of activities, including patrolling and protecting natural forests under community management; training to strengthen skills in forest patrolling and protection; reforestation and enrichment of community forests; annual FSC assessment; connecting the community with interested businesses... along with a number of related management, coordination and propaganda activities.

The grant owner is the Association of households with forest certificates in Quang Tri , responsible for presiding over and coordinating with the sponsor, relevant agencies and units to organize the implementation and use of the grant funds in accordance with the approved objectives and contents of the grant.
