According to information from Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the unit has received 100% of the clean site to construct Long Thanh International Airport phase 1.
Specifically, ACV has received the full handover of 2,532 hectares of land from Dong Nai province, including 1,810 hectares in the project construction area and 722 hectares in the land reserve area.
However, ACV said that the two traffic routes connecting to the project have not yet been able to completely hand over the land when route No. 1 has handed over 60.28/66.45 hectares (reaching 90.7%); route No. 2 has handed over 20.50/59.68 hectares (reaching 34.3%).
Therefore, ACV requested the locality to speed up the site clearance and handover of the remaining area to avoid the situation of "rice and beans", affecting the construction progress of the project.
ACV also confirmed that it has prepared funds for site clearance of about 1,600 billion VND and will immediately transfer them to the locality when there is a payment decision approved by the Long Thanh District People's Committee for each household.
Long Thanh International Airport project has a total investment of about 336,630 billion VND, divided into three phases.
According to ACV's report, as of October 2023, the total actual excavation and leveling volume has been about 102 million m3 out of a total of 115 million m3, reaching over 88% of the total construction volume. In particular, the leveling work in priority areas to hand over for the construction of the main structure has been completed, meeting the key progress of 15 months as directed by the Government and the Ministry of Transport .
In addition, the runway, taxiway, aircraft parking areas and the areas arranged for component projects 1, 2, 4 have been completed according to the plan, ensuring synchronous construction of passenger terminal, runway, taxiway, and aircraft parking items.
Long Thanh International Airport project has a total investment of about 336,630 billion VND, divided into 3 phases.
Phase 1: Construction of a runway, passenger terminal and other supporting facilities with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year. According to the plan, phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026.
Phase 2: The airport will build an additional open-configuration runway and terminal to reach a capacity of 50 million passengers/year.
Phase 3: Complete the remaining items so that the airport can reach a capacity of 100 million passengers/year and become the largest airport in Vietnam in the future and aim to become one of the busiest transit airports in the region .
