Egypt Today reported that the source warned Israel of the consequences of escalation in Gaza and denied any coordination with the country regarding the Rafah border crossing area.

Accordingly, from the beginning, Cairo has always been consistent in its stance against Israel's aggression and has put Egypt's national security and Palestinian rights first.

The source stressed that the Israeli media intended to publish inaccurate information to divert public attention from the chaos the country is going through.

Besides, Egypt's respect for international obligations and treaties will not prevent Cairo from using "all available scenarios" to protect national security as well as the historic rights of Palestinians.

The information was released amid rising tensions between Egypt and Israel over military operations by the Middle Eastern nation's government in and around the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, bordering Egypt.

Israel and Egypt signed a peace treaty in 1979 and have cooperated closely on security along their shared border and the border between Gaza and Egypt for years. However, Cairo has warned that its relationship with Israel could be weakened by its campaign in Gaza.
