Apple begins taking pre-orders for Vision Pro glasses for $3,499

From January 19, users can pre-order Apple's Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

Vision Pro glasses were first announced by Apple at WWDC 2023 and will officially be available in the US market from February 2, 2024, with the lowest price starting from 3,499 USD. This is also the first new product category of "Apple" since the Apple Watch launched in 2015.

“We believe the success of Vision Pro in 2024 will be modest and have longer-term potential,” Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring wrote in a note to investors in December 2023.

Meanwhile, UBS analyst David Vogt estimated that Apple will generate about $1.4 billion in revenue from Vision Pro glasses in 2024, assuming it ships about 400,000 devices. By comparison, in the third quarter of 2023, the iPhone contributed about $43.81 billion to Apple.

The lowest-priced Vision Pro mixed reality headset has 256GB of storage and an M2 chip. There are also 512GB versions for $3,699 and 1TB for $3,899. The headset offers a “spatial computing” experience, serving as a virtual reality screen so people can watch movies or “pin” different apps to view while still observing the real world .

Apple’s pre-order website requires customers to use an iPhone or iPad with Face ID to find the right size. In addition to the one-time payment option, the company also offers a 12-month installment plan.
