Bac Ninh: Multiplying livable countryside

People unite, rural areas change

In the journey of building new rural areas, along with the State's resources, there is also the joint efforts of all classes of people, bringing the new rural construction in localities to be implemented smoothly. The clearest evidence is that in the period of 2021-2025, the whole province mobilized people to donate more than 660 thousand ^square meters of land, demolish 52 thousand ^square meters of fences, and contribute over 150 thousand working days to build roads and public works.

Coming to Van Mieu village, Tan Yen commune, we felt the excitement and vitality of the model countryside. The picture of the countryside was filled with fresh colors, and prosperity was present in every house. Comrade Dang Thanh Cuong, Secretary of the village Party Cell, excitedly said: "Thanks to the investment of the State and the joint efforts of the people, in 2022, Van Mieu village reached the model new rural area, in 2023 it achieved "bright, green, clean, beautiful residential area". Up to now, the criteria have been maintained and increasingly improved". In the period of 2020-2025, the village mobilized people to donate 400 ^m2 of land to expand village roads and alleys; mobilized nearly 1.5 billion VND from organizations and individuals to build, consolidate and improve the model new rural criteria. Welcome gates, village communal houses, cultural houses, civilized residential areas... were built spaciously. Up to now, 100% of village and alley roads have been widened and paved; 100% of roads have been installed with lighting, flowers and security cameras.

The whole province has 13 villages in special communes recognized as meeting new rural standards, 516 standard villages, 452 villages recognized as meeting model standards. These localities are gradually becoming livable countrysides with synchronous investment infrastructure, economic , cultural and social development, and the quality of people's lives is increasingly improved.

Phuc Lai village, Gia Binh commune, the countryside today has taken on a new look. Concrete roads stretch into every alley and hamlet; high-rise buildings are built close together, production is developing, and people's material and spiritual life is improving. Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang, Head of Phuc Lai village, said: "The village has received attention from the province to invest in building many infrastructure items, along with the contributions of the people, creating a new space for the locality. Typically, when implementing the construction of a cultural house, in addition to the support of the State, the people also contributed 750 million VND to install sound equipment, decorate, build artificial football fields, and volleyball courts; in the construction of environmental landscapes, many households actively supported materials and labor days, contributing to creating a green, clean, and beautiful village appearance. In early 2025, the village was recognized as meeting model standards."

Building smart and sustainable new rural areas

With the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the participation, active response and joint efforts of all classes of people, the New Rural Development Program for the period 2021-2025 has achieved many important results. Notably, the villages have focused on effectively restructuring the agricultural sector, developing the rural economy; promoting the One Commune (Ward, Town) One Product Program (OCOP), diversifying occupations, and replicating many effective economic models. Typical examples include Dai Mao residential group, Mao Dien ward (formerly Dai Mao village, Hoai Thuong commune), where people preserve and promote traditional production occupations; the whole village has 4 companies with more than 100 households making curtains, bedding, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers. Promoting the advantages of alluvial land, the village mobilized people to accumulate land, form cooperatives and farms to develop agriculture in a sustainable direction, contributing to bringing the average income to 72 million VND/person/year.

Many villages develop rural tourism associated with the consumption of agricultural products and craft products, activating changes in lifestyle towards civilization: Tho Ha residential group, Van Ha ward develops rice paper making experience tourism; Phu Lang village, Phu Lang commune associates tourism with pottery making; Dong Khe residential group, Thuan Thanh ward exploits tourism with the experience of making Dong Ho folk paintings... Villages and hamlets focus on investing in and perfecting the system of cultural institutions, physical training and sports at the grassroots level, creating favorable conditions for movements to take place vigorously and widely. Traditional cultural values in each countryside are preserved and promoted in a sustainable manner.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the whole province has 13 villages in special communes recognized as meeting new rural standards, 516 standard villages, 452 villages recognized as meeting model standards. These localities are gradually becoming livable countrysides with synchronous investment infrastructure, economic, cultural and social development, and increasingly improved quality of life for the people. In the period of 2026-2030, the province continues to implement the New Rural Development Program with the goals of: Restructuring the agricultural sector, developing the rural economy, urbanization process, going into depth, effectively and sustainably; promoting digital transformation, applying information technology and building smart new rural areas; improving the material and spiritual life of rural people, promoting gender equality; building synchronous and gradually modern rural socio-economic infrastructure, ensuring a bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe environment and landscape rich in cultural identity. The total proposed capital plan for this period is up to nearly 8.4 trillion VND.

Inheriting the achievements from previous stages, with the drastic and synchronous participation of the entire political system, the joint efforts and consensus of all classes of people, Bac Ninh will have many more civilized, prosperous, and unique countrysides, truly becoming livable countrysides.
