General rehearsal report of the opera "Meeting the dead"

On the evening of October 25, Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater held a rehearsal of the Cai Luong play "Meeting the Dead". The play will participate in the National Cai Luong Festival in 2024.

“Meeting the Dead” tells the story of the life and fighting in enemy territory of Saigon special forces officers and soldiers during the resistance war against the US to save the country. For the sake of their mission, Bao Quyen (played by artist Luong Hoa) and Tran Duc (People's Artist Vuong Hai) accept to sacrifice their youth and love. To ensure the safety of Bao Quyen and the child she is carrying, the organization arranges for her to marry Captain Dung, a puppet officer. Tran Duc is sent to the North, Bao Quyen continues to participate in a major case.

The fates of the characters intertwine between the past and the present. However, for revolutionary soldiers, what they put above all else is the safety of the organization and loyalty to the country. Characters such as Tran Duc, Bao Quyen, nun Thuy Trang and comrades with the aliases B8, A5... are willing to sacrifice their lives to carry out their missions.

Back to the present, the war has long ended, in the martyrs' cemetery, an old veteran still takes care of the wind graves day and night. He is the soldier Tran Duc from the past. And "the reality in life is as beautiful as a dream", Mr. Tran Duc met Bao Quyen and his son again after many years of hope and waiting.

Witnessing the sacrifice of their comrades and accepting the loss of personal happiness, the love story of Tran Duc and Bao Quyen finally took root and bore sweet fruit.

Friends and colleagues congratulated the artists on a successful rehearsal report night.

The cai luong play “Gap lai nguoi da de” (Returning the Dead) was adapted by playwright Dang Chuong from the memoir “Return” by Colonel Pham Van Quyen, former Director of the Institute of History of the People's Public Security. People's Artist Vu Trong Hai adapted the cai luong and Dr., People's Artist Trieu Trung Kien was the director, along with the talent and dedication of the artists of Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater, creating many emotions and bringing many tears to the audience.

Hopefully the play will win many awards at the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival held in Can Tho City from October 25 to November 12, 2024.
