A representative of Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant said that at around 10:00 p.m. on September 28, heavy rain accompanied strong winds causing the factory's coal warehouse roof to collapse. Currently, the unit is waiting for the rain to stop before being able to survey and come up with a solution.
Vung Ang II BOT Thermal Power Plant (VAPCO) consists of two units 1 and 2, with a designed capacity of 1,200 MV, located in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Vung Ang Ward, Ha Tinh Province. The project has a total investment capital of 2.2 billion USD, using imported coal. On September 18, unit 1 of the plant was put into operation after 4 years of construction.
