Ms. Hoang Thi Hao, Principal of Dao Son Tay High School (Thu Duc City), informed that the school is still short of 74 students, but 27 students have submitted additional enrollment applications. It turns out that the school has recruited nearly 1/3 of the remaining enrollment quota.

In Cu Chi district, high schools received relatively few applications compared to the number of remaining quotas and the need to recruit more. The leaders of the Department of Education and Training assessed that high schools in suburban areas, due to the long distance, have difficulty attracting students to register for additional admission even though the admission scores are not high. Particularly for high schools in inner-city areas, the top schools have few students registering because students in these areas who are not admitted often have other study orientations such as non-public schools or vocational training centers near their homes because the curriculum and examination regimes are the same as those of the high school system.

According to regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, on August 12, schools will announce the list of additional admitted students. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on August 16, high schools will organize to receive students.

It is known that this is the first year that Ho Chi Minh City has implemented additional recruitment for regular 10th grade. In response to the question of whether this year's additional recruitment will become a precedent for the following school years, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that after the additional recruitment, the department will base on the data to research plans for the coming school years to create more opportunities for students and not waste assigned study places.
