Chinese newspaper frankly commented on the strength of Vietnam's futsal team

(Dan Tri) - Hangzhou newspaper (China) highly appreciated the strength of the Vietnamese futsal team and expressed concern for the home team.

At 2:30 p.m. this afternoon (September 20), the Vietnamese futsal team will have their opening match in the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship qualifiers against Hong Kong (China) at Linping Sport Center Gymnasium (Hangzhou, China). Also in this group are two other teams, China and Lebanon.

In theory, the Vietnamese futsal team is rated the highest in this group, ranking 26th in the world . This is the highest ranking in the team's history. In this group, Lebanon is ranked 54th, China is ranked 85th, and Hong Kong (China) is ranked 123rd.

Chinese media also highly appreciate the strength of Vietnam futsal. The local newspaper Hangzhou commented: “The Vietnamese futsal team has small but very agile players with very good technical and tactical skills. This will be the biggest opponent of the Chinese futsal team.

The Vietnamese futsal team plays with great technique and has made its mark in Asia as well as the World Cup. They will certainly pose a big threat to the Chinese futsal team.”

Commenting on the two opponents Hong Kong (China) and Lebanon, Hangzhou newspaper wrote: “Lebanon possesses excellent physical strength and a strong, powerful playing style. On the contrary, Hong Kong has its own playing style but is somewhat familiar with China.”

Hangzhou newspaper also said about the host team: "The Chinese Futsal team participated in the Shijiazhuang International Futsal Tournament, considering this tournament as a training opportunity to hone the squad and prepare for the Asian Cup qualifiers, aiming positively for the Asian qualifiers."

Notably, in the Chinese futsal team participating in the Asian futsal qualifying round, people saw a few naturalized faces such as Kaisaier Taximaimaiti, Yakeppujiang Maimaiti, Saiyidaer Subuer... The team is led by Italian coach, Silvio Crisari.

According to AFC regulations, the top 8 teams and the 7 teams with the best results (out of 8 groups) will qualify for the final round of the Asian futsal tournament taking place in Indonesia early next year.
