Due to the impact of storm No. 10, Tu Le commune suffered heavy damage: 33 houses were damaged, National Highway 32 through the area was seriously eroded causing traffic jams, 5 villages were flooded, 22 hectares of rice and crops were buried... The total initial damage was estimated at about 41 billion VND. To soon stabilize people's lives, the commune government urgently deployed remedial solutions according to the "four on-site" motto.
Immediately after the disaster occurred, the Commune Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue Command was present at the scene, grasped the situation and promptly directed the recovery work. The commune mobilized 200 members, including militia, commune police, union members, youth and local people to urgently clear rocks and soil, and clear inter-village and inter-commune roads due to landslides. For households with damaged houses, the commune mobilized human and material resources to help rebuild houses and move assets to safety. Thanks to the drastic participation, many important traffic routes were cleared after only a few days, creating favorable conditions for people to travel and transport agricultural products.

Mr. Tran Van Toan, in Lim Thai village, shared: My family sells many products, so when we heard about the storm and were informed and reminded, the people, the militia and the police promptly helped move the goods, thereby minimizing the damage. After the flood, my family continued to receive help from everyone, so we are trying to stabilize our lives soon.

In addition, Tu Le commune has conducted a review and statistics of the damage. For households affected in housing, the commune and village authorities have mobilized families that were not damaged to provide temporary housing support, and at the same time closely monitored the food situation to provide timely supplies, ensuring that no one goes hungry after the natural disaster. In particular, for households living in areas with high risk of landslides, the commune has proactively mobilized 20 households to evacuate to safe places, and at the same time arranged forces to be on duty at key points to be ready to respond when new situations arise.

Mr. Lo Van Thuan - Head of Lim Thai village said: For the affected households, the village has propagated and mobilized people in the resettlement area to join hands to support. People have helped 7 flooded households clean up their houses, dredge mud and soil, contributing to helping the families stabilize their lives soon.

In addition to overcoming the immediate consequences, Tu Le commune also focuses on promoting propaganda and raising people's awareness of natural disaster prevention. Villages are updated with weather forecast information and instructed on prevention skills. The commune government also pays special attention to maintaining security and order, ensuring environmental sanitation, and at the same time directs people to harvest ripe rice and crops to ensure food and economic stability after the flood.

Currently, with the strong direction of the Party Committee, the government and the people's solidarity, many infrastructure items have been basically repaired. Affected schools have been quickly cleaned, repaired, and are ready to operate again. The atmosphere of urgent work, solidarity and sharing has spread throughout the villages, contributing to alleviating difficulties and losses after natural disasters.

Chairman of Tu Le Commune People's Committee, Mr. Hoang Trong Nghia said: In the immediate future, the commune will focus on repairing damaged households and essential infrastructure works, and at the same time support poor households and households that are heavily affected. In the coming time, the commune will make plans and propose to superiors to build emergency resettlement areas to ensure safe accommodation for households that have to relocate when natural disasters occur. In addition, the commune has also developed plans and proposed public investment programs and projects to build flood-proof embankments and drainage systems in villages and hamlets; at the same time, review and repair the warning information system, ensuring timely communication to people in all weather situations, helping to proactively prevent floods and storms.

The suspension bridge leading to Chao village was damaged by floodwaters.
Natural disasters always cause serious consequences, but the way the government and people of Tu Le commune proactively respond and promptly overcome difficulties clearly demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and the will to overcome difficulties of the highland people. That creates a solid foundation for Tu Le not only to recover quickly from natural disasters but also to become more proactive and resilient in the face of future natural challenges.
