Vietnam Futsal won 2 consecutive matches
In the second match of Group E of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship qualifiers in Hangzhou (China) last night, September 22, the Vietnamese futsal team continued to show their class and won against the host team China. The team led by coach Diego Giustozzi dominated the home team and opened the score very early. After only 3 minutes of play, the away team took a 3-0 lead thanks to Chau Doan Phat and Vu Ngoc Anh (double). Scoring early helped Pham Duc Hoa and his teammates control the game and easily deploy their play.

Similar to the opening match against Hong Kong, the Vietnamese futsal team also led China 5-0 after 20 minutes of the first half (the next 2 players to score were Nguyen Da Hai and Nguyen Thinh Phat). Thinh Phat continued to shine in the second half with 2 more goals to complete the hat-trick. The Chinese team scored 2 goals at the end of the match and suffered a final defeat of 2-7 against Vietnam.
On the same day, the Lebanese futsal team shared points with Hong Kong, when the match ended in a 1-1 draw. This result gave coach Diego Giustozzi and his team a big advantage before the final match. After 2 rounds, the Vietnamese futsal team has a perfect record and is currently leading Group E with 6 points (+13 goal difference). Lebanon is second with 4 points (+1 goal difference). Hong Kong is third with 1 point (-8 goal difference). Host China lost both matches, ranked bottom of Group E and is definitely eliminated.
The final round of Group E takes place on September 24, when the Vietnamese futsal team meets Lebanon, while China meets Hong Kong. Coach Giustozzi's team only needs a draw to qualify for the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship as group winners.
