6 people arrested in case of mistakenly beating and seriously injuring 2 male students

On April 18, Duc Trong District Police ( Lam Dong Province) initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained 6 people for "Disturbing public order", including Le Duc Dat (17 years old), Ho Thanh Hieu (17 years old), Nguyen Hong Tam (27 years old), Le Van Hieu (21 years old), Tran Hoang Hien (35 years old), and Truong Nguyen Duy Tien (22 years old).

According to the initial investigation results, at about 9:00 p.m. on April 13, Dat drove a motorbike carrying Hieu from Lien Nghia town to Phu Hoi commune. When approaching Nam Son lake, they encountered a group of about 20 young men (called Lien Nghia group) riding 10 motorbikes. Some of the young men in this group turned their motorbikes around to chase Dat and Hieu.

Dat and Hieu ran back to Phu Trung village (Phu Hoi commune) and called the remaining four people to prepare weapons to fight with Lien Nghia's group. After that, the two groups met and got into a fight and Lien Nghia's group ran away.

6 young men were prosecuted.

About 5 minutes later, NAH (17 years old) drove a motorbike carrying her friend D.NBL (17 years old, also in 11th grade, Luong The Vinh High School, Lien Nghia town) and a group of friends passing by the area where the fight had just taken place.

Due to a mistake and thinking that Lien Nghia's group was returning, Dat's group used weapons to throw at H. and his friends' car that was coming. Due to the sudden attack, H. lost control and crashed into the back of a truck parked on the side of the road, then crashed into a resident's gate, seriously injured.

All 6 young men in Dat's group were arrested by Duc Trong District Police that night. As for the intentional injury of the 2 male students, the investigation agency is waiting for an injury assessment, to consolidate the case file and will initiate additional prosecution later.
