The patrol team of Co To Border Guard Station, Quang Ninh province discovered and arrested 02 people and 02 vehicles using electric shock to illegally exploit aquatic products in Co To sea.

The two people arrested are HQChien, 40 years old, residing in Quang Ninh; TVThang, 29 years old, both residing in Quang Ninh province. Co To Border Guard Station has drawn up a record, seized evidence and illegal fishing tools, worked with the two people above and is continuing to investigate and verify to consolidate the records, and handle the case in accordance with the law.

Electric fishing is an act of destruction, destroying the habitat and aquatic resources.

The timely detection and arrest of those using electric shock to illegally exploit aquatic resources is very important in protecting and restoring aquatic resources; as well as efforts to remove the "yellow card" of the European Commission (EC) on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing in Quang Ninh province, including the Border Guard force.
