France's Ministry of National Education has confirmed that a nine-year-old girl has earned her baccalaureate, becoming the youngest in the country's history.

The previous record belonged to a boy named Arthur Ramiandrisoa who obtained his baccalaureate in 1989 at the age of 11 years and 11 months. Arthur had never been to school and was homeschooled by his parents using the "Arthur method" invented by his father.

The female student just set a new record in the free exam in Paris with 2 specialized subjects: math and physics - chemistry. Actually, she only passed after the re-exam, so she did not get excellent results.

According to Le Figaro newspaper, to respect the privacy of the girl, the Ministry of National Education refused to disclose further information about her profile. But France Info said the girl was born in France, has Grenada nationality and is currently studying in Dubai.

However, a training organization called Isoset claims to have "trained" this girl to take the baccalaureate exam.

In a press release, the Isoset Institute claimed that the girl's success was not due to her superior intelligence. The institute asserted that her results were "the result of a different learning method."

The Isoset Institute also said it developed its unique training method through the experience of training male student Hugo Sbai - who earned his doctorate at the age of 18.

Sbai's path was the subject of much ink a few years ago. Sbai graduated with honors from the science baccalaureate at the age of 12.

At 16, the teenager earned a master's degree in computer science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and a master's degree in law from the Sorbonne. He then earned a doctorate in computer science from the University of Lille at 18.

When interviewed by Le Figaro newspaper in 2018, Sbai revealed that he went straight from 6th grade to 10th grade thanks to the method invented by his two aunts.

The 2025 baccalaureate exam in France also recorded an 8-year-old candidate who registered for the exam, but did not attend the exams.

According to official figures, the baccalaureate passing rate in France in 2025 reached 91.8%, an increase of 0.4% compared to 2024. The whole country had 720,806 candidates taking the exam, of which 679,100 were recognized as graduates.

If calculated by training system: the general high school system (equivalent to high school program with university orientation) has a passing rate of 96.4%; the technology system (training associated with technical application) reaches 91.2%; and the vocational system (training oriented towards practical work) reaches 84.1%.

The girl "has a normal IQ"

According to Le Parisien newspaper, the girl who just passed her baccalaureate was born in October 2015, her father is a veterinarian and her mother is a nanomaterials researcher. Currently, her family does not want to comment on her daughter's baccalaureate degree.

However, her godmother described her as "a very normal girl", "inquisitive", "very fond of learning" and "studied with people her age". She also said the girl had a normal IQ.

The godmother confirmed to Le Parisien that "she performed very well and scored excellently in her oral exams. Especially the big oral exam, I remember she was very proud when she told me that she got 20/20 points".
