The 7th Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 will organize competitions in 11 sports , taking place in 2 sessions in Dong Ha City.

Of which, the first phase is from March 27-31, the second phase is from April 8-12; there are 3,201 athletes participating from 9 Departments of Education and Training of districts, towns, cities, 32 high schools, 2 centers of vocational education and continuing education in Vinh Linh district and Dong Ha city; there are 248 sets of medals awarded.

Facilities and equipment serving the competition must ensure standards and quality, meeting professional requirements of the competitions; ensuring security, order, traffic safety, health ...

The organizing committee has mobilized nearly 300 reputable referees with good professional capacity from educational institutions throughout the province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to participate in the management of the competitions, ensuring fairness and accuracy. The delegations have proactively arranged accommodation and travel to ensure the health and safety of the athletes.

The opening ceremony with the theme "Proud of the homeland's tradition, Quang Tri students promote the spirit of Phu Dong, conquer the peak of knowledge, join hands to protect peace" was held at the Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium solemnly, grandly, meaningfully and created a good impression on cadres, teachers, students and people.

This Phu Dong Sports Festival has high professional quality. After 11 days of exciting competition, with the spirit of solidarity, honesty and nobility, the athletes have made efforts, competed persistently with high determination, competed honestly and contributed many good matches, broke many records, leaving a good impression in the hearts of the audience. The sports that are highly appreciated in terms of expertise are: volleyball, pole pushing, elementary school football, badminton, swimming, Karate...

Many units have maintained and affirmed their achievements through participation such as: Department of Education and Training of Dong Ha, Vinh Linh, Cam Lo cities; Dong Ha High School, Le Quy Don High School, Cua Tung High School, Vinh Linh High School... Some units have made breakthroughs at this Phu Dong Sports Festival such as: Department of Education and Training of Cam Lo, Gio Linh, Huong Hoa districts; Dakrong Secondary and High School, Ben Quan Secondary and High School...

Through the 7th Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival, many outstanding athletes in the physical education and school sports movement were discovered. This is an important basis for selecting athletes to participate in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 with high results.

At the end of the 7th Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024, the Organizing Committee awarded the first place flag to the Department of Education and Training of Dong Ha City; the first place flag to the inter-level general education sector to Trung Vuong Primary, Secondary and High School; the first place flag to the high school sector to Dong Ha High School; awarded the second place, third place, and encouragement flags to the Department of Education and Training, inter-level general education, and high school sectors to units with high achievements; awarded 87 first, second, and third place team flags to units with high achievements in competitions; commended 8 athletes who competed excellently and broke records in swimming and athletics.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 11 groups and 15 individuals; the Director of the Department of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 18 groups and 45 individuals with outstanding achievements at the 7th Quang Tri Province Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024.
