BeIN Sports proves the ball is in the field

BeIN Sports broadcast images using its own technology to prove the ball was in the field before Newcastle scored a goal. This was a controversial situation in the match between Newcastle and Arsenal in round 11 of the Premier League.

In the 64th minute, Joe Willock tried to save the ball on the touchline after a cross from his teammate. He crossed the ball for Joelinton to head, the ball bounced right to Anthony Gordon and this player easily finished to open the score.

Bein Sports television technology shows the ball is still in play.

Arsenal players reacted when they thought the ball had crossed the goal line and Joelinton fouled the visiting defender in the challenge.

However, VAR determined the ball was in play (although only one camera angle was considered) and there was no foul. The referee did not directly watch the footage and decided to listen to VAR's advice, awarding the goal to Newcastle.

The home team won 1-0. Coach Mikel Arteta was furious in his post-match press conference. He said: " It's a disgrace what happened. Do goals like that still exist in the Premier League? This is the league we call the best in the world .

I've been in this country for 20 years and I'm really embarrassed. It's a disgrace and there's too much at stake here. We try to do amazing things, perform well every week. When we're not good enough, I take responsibility, but today's result doesn't reflect the image of the league ."

With this loss, Arsenal remains in third place with 24 points, 3 points behind leaders Man City. However, they are at risk of slipping out of the top 4 if Liverpool and Aston Villa win tonight, November 5.
