On May 31, Children's Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with philanthropists to organize the program "Children's Day" for all inpatients and outpatients of the hospital on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1.

At the hair salon, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, 30 years old, living in Dong Nai , held her little daughter in her arms while the barber cut her hair.

Ms. Thuy's child has been sick for a month now. She took her child to Children's Hospital 2 and the doctor diagnosed her child with pneumonia and admitted her to the hospital. For the past half month, her child has been in treatment, her child's hair has grown long but she has not been able to take her child to get a haircut.

Today, knowing that the hospital organized a "Children's Festival" for pediatric patients on International Children's Day June 1, she took her child to the hair salon. For Ms. Thuy, the hair cutting program for pediatric patients is very practical because it "solved" the difficulties, as well as met the wishes of pediatric patients and their parents during their hospital stay.

While watching a performance on stage with her child, Ms. Huynh Thi Ngoc Le, 40 years old, living in Dong Nai, said that every month her child has to go to Children's Hospital 2 for treatment, sometimes for a week, sometimes for 3 months.

Her 4-year-old son has congenital heart disease and chronic intestinal infection. He cannot speak or walk, but is very interested in listening to the art program organized by the hospital.

"Seeing my child enjoy watching it, I feel very happy and silently thank the hospital for organizing such a meaningful program for the children," Ms. Le said emotionally.

Ms. Dao Thi My Linh, 37 years old, living in Binh Duong , just took her daughter to the hospital yesterday with symptoms of high fever and vomiting a lot. "Last night she was tired and lethargic, now she's having fun and forgetting about her illness," Ms. Linh said while watching her child coloring. She was also surprised that her child was being treated for a disease but still able to enjoy a happy holiday on the occasion of June 1st like this.

In the excited atmosphere welcoming the festival program of the children, Ms. Le Thi Minh Hong, Deputy Director of Children's Hospital 2, shared that all the medical staff were very stressed and very tired when treating the children.

But seeing the children smiling happily and contentedly after being cared for mentally like today, all the daily hardships and pressures disappear.

"We feel very happy and satisfied to bring joy to the children, helping them reduce their burdens and physical suffering during the treatment process."
