The plan to implement the VIII Power Plan was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 262/QD-TTg. In order for the plan to be suitable to the reality of each locality, especially to effectively promote renewable energy projects, and to implement the Government's direction, the Ministry of Industry and Trade presides over and coordinates with central ministries, branches and localities to consider adjusting the VIII Power Plan.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade consider adding renewable energy sources, which are potential strengths of Ninh Thuan province, to the Power Plan VIII, including nuclear power, gas power, hydropower, solar power with combined electricity storage and direct electricity sales; offshore wind power, pumped storage hydropower with a total capacity of over 26,000 MW. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade should soon advise and propose the Government to issue electricity mechanisms and policies, prioritizing synchronization from the Power Source Plan, transmission infrastructure, policies to attract investment in clean industry, industries serving clean energy, and industrial services for Ninh Thuan.

At the conference, delegates presented the implementation status of the Plan to implement the VIII Power Plan; information on renewable energy projects in localities; specific analysis and assessment of each renewable energy project; proposed some opinions on adjusting the VIII Power Plan...
Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long requested that sectors and localities urgently review and synthesize power source projects, provide information and data for calculations to report on additional proposals and power development projects, ensuring consistency with the power planning, providing enough electricity for the country's development needs in the new situation; report the results to the Ministry of Industry and Trade before January 5, 2025 to serve as a basis for research and proposal to complete the draft adjustment of Power Planning VIII to submit to the Government before February 28, 2025.
