The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment assigns work tasks to the Minister and 10 Deputy Ministers.

According to Decision No. 389 of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, the tasks of the Minister and Deputy Ministers are assigned as follows:

Minister Do Duc Duy:

Comprehensively lead and manage the Ministry's activities according to the Ministry's functions, tasks and powers.

Directing the development of institutions, policies, planning, and strategies on agriculture and the environment; the following tasks: organization of apparatus, payroll, cadres, civil servants, and public employees; administrative reform, improvement of the investment and business environment; prevention and combat of corruption, waste, and negativity; inspection, citizen reception, and settlement of complaints and denunciations.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep:

Monitor and direct the following areas: Irrigation; natural disaster prevention; general responsibility for the following tasks: planning and investment; gender equality, for women's advancement. Assist the Minister in directing the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity.

Follow the provinces and cities of the Central Highlands: Kon Tum , Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa:

Monitor and direct the following areas: Surveying and mapping; remote sensing; be in charge of the following tasks: emulation, rewards; training and fostering of cadres, civil servants and public employees; nursing and rehabilitation; mass mobilization, implementation of the grassroots democracy regulations.

Assisting the Minister in charge of units: Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry Inspectorate. Monitoring a number of provinces and cities in the Red River Delta: Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh.

Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam:

Monitor and direct the following fields and tasks: Management of agricultural, forestry, fishery and agricultural material quality; processing and development of agricultural product markets; management of quality, food safety and hygiene; agricultural extension and construction of raw material areas meeting export standards; salt industry management; new rural development and the national OCOP Program; training work of schools under the Ministry (except for training and fostering of cadres, civil servants and public employees).

Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien

Monitor and direct the fields: Geology and minerals; in charge of general tasks: information technology, digital transformation. Directly in charge of: Vietnam Geology and Minerals Department, Office of the National Mineral Reserves Assessment Council; Department of Digital Transformation; Institute of Geological Sciences and Mineral Resources.

Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh:

Monitor and direct the following areas: Environment, hydrometeorology, climate change. Directly in charge of the following units: Department of Environment; Department of Hydrometeorology; Department of Climate Change; Institute of Hydrometeorology and Climate Change.

Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien:

Monitor and direct the following areas: Fisheries; fisheries control; livestock; veterinary; search and rescue at sea; be in charge of general work: science and technology; communications and press.

Directly in charge of the following units: Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control; Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine; Department of Science and Technology; Aquaculture Research Institute I; Aquaculture Research Institute II; Aquaculture Research Institute III; Seafood Research Institute; Animal Husbandry Institute; Veterinary Institute; Institute of Fisheries Economics and Planning; Agriculture and Environment Newspaper; Agriculture and Environment Magazine; Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication.

Deputy Minister Le Minh Ngan:

Monitor and direct the following areas: Land; water resources; sea and islands; real estate arrangement of agencies and units under the Ministry.

Directly in charge of the following units: Department of Land Management; Department of Water Resources Management; Department of Seas and Islands of Vietnam; Standing Office of the Vietnam Mekong River Commission; Institute of Environmental, Sea and Island Sciences; Institute of Water Resources Science; National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Tri:

Monitor and direct the following areas: Forestry, forest rangers; nature conservation and biodiversity. Directly in charge of the following units: Department of Forestry and Forest Rangers; Department of Nature Conservation and Biodiversity; Institute of Forest Investigation and Planning; Vietnam Forestry Science Institute; Forestry Project Management Board.

Deputy Minister Hoang Trung:

Monitor and direct the following areas: Cultivation; plant protection; restructuring of the agricultural sector; general responsibility for international cooperation, financial management and state-owned enterprises under the Ministry; reorganizing and innovating the operations of state-owned agricultural and forestry companies.

Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung:

Monitor and direct the following areas of work: Legal affairs; office work; poverty reduction; rural development; development of cooperative economy, cooperatives, household economy, farms and production linkages in agriculture; agricultural start-ups; agricultural insurance; agricultural vocational training for rural workers; management of rural industries, services and agricultural electromechanics.
