Minister Hau A Lenh becomes Secretary of Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee

On the morning of January 22, the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement the Politburo's decision on personnel work. Accordingly, the Politburo decided to assign and appoint Mr. Hau A Lenh, Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee, to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

At the conference, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac, on behalf of the Politburo, presented the decision and flowers to congratulate Mr. Hau A Lenh on taking up the position of Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Hau A Lenh (52 years old), hometown in Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province, has a master's degree in agricultural science, and is a senior politician. Mr. Hau A Lenh is a member of the Party Central Committee for 4 terms: X, XI (alternate); XII, XIII.

Mr. Hau A Lenh is a cadre who grew up from the grassroots, holding many positions from local to central levels, such as: Professional Assistant of Department 16, General Department II (Ministry of National Defense); officer of the Organization Committee of Sa Pa District Party Committee; Secretary of Sa Pa District Youth Union; Secretary of Sa Pa District Party Committee; Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, then Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Northwest Steering Committee, Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, terms VIII and IX.

From April 2021 to present, Mr. Hau A Lenh has been approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee.

Previously, from May 2023, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Acting Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee after Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh, former Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee, was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

At the conference, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac said that the Politburo assessed Mr. Hau A Lenh as a capable and experienced cadre in Party and political system building, with a sharp mind, scientific, democratic, decisive working methods, and close to the grassroots. The fact that Mr. Hau A Lenh was assigned by the Politburo to the new responsibility of Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee shows the Politburo's trust and recognition in him.

The Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee also requested the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, leaders at all levels and sectors in the whole Ha Giang province to strengthen solidarity, together with Mr. Hau A Lenh to shoulder the work, focus on leadership and direction to well implement the tasks of Ha Giang.

In his acceptance speech, the new Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee, Hau A Lenh, expressed that being assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee is a recognition and trust of the Politburo, and also an important responsibility assigned by the Party and State.

Mr. Hau A Lenh emphasized that Ha Giang is the northernmost border province of the country, with a particularly important geographical position. Over the past years, the Party Committee, government and people in the province have made great efforts but there are still many difficulties. Therefore, Mr. Hau A Lenh hopes to continue to receive attention from the Central Government and ministries and branches.

The new Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee also promised to work with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, and the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee to continue to inherit and promote the results achieved in the past terms, strive to achieve the goals of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and the following years.
