The 21-year-old England striker has had an excellent season with Arsenal, scoring 14 goals in all competitions and providing 11 assists. Saka made his debut for the Gunners in November 2018 and has made 178 appearances for the north London club, scoring 37 goals.
Saka scored in the win over Tottenham
“I am really happy. There have been a lot of talks and now I am here. I think this is the right club, the right place to develop my career. Arsenal is a beautiful club, look where we are in the table. For me, achieving my personal ambitions means I demand a lot from myself in every game. I think I have everything I need to be the best player I can be and that is why I am very happy to stay at Arsenal,” Saka said after agreeing a deal that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until at least 2027.
Despite the disappointment of losing out to Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title this season, Arsenal are still pleased to be playing in the Champions League next season for the first time since 2017.
Goalkeeper Ramsdale also stays with Arsenal
“I have seen a lot of changes. I have seen the club grow and we are on the right track. Time is on our side. Arsenal have a lot of young players. We have a lot of hunger because a lot of our team-mates have not won anything at Arsenal. If you see the way we all talk, we want to win and we want to win here. It has been a long time since Arsenal played in the Champions League. I am really looking forward to Tuesday and Wednesday nights at this stadium, the atmosphere will be special,” Saka added.
Coach Arteta has kept his two favorite players
The striker has signed a new deal with goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in recent days and manager Mikel Arteta said: “It is fantastic for Arsenal that Saka has signed a new contract. Retaining the best young talent is key to our continued progress and Saka represents an important part of that now and in the future. As well as being a fantastic talent, Saka is a special person. He is loved by everyone. Together with our supporters, we look forward to enjoying Saka’s continued development in the years to come.”
