Notably, during the awards ceremony, the Organizing Committee honored C. Ronaldo with the award for “Greatest Player of All Time”. The Organizing Committee praised the 40-year-old superstar as “an irreplaceable icon of football and an idol of millions of fans around the world”, while emphasizing his timeless influence on the king sport .
C. Ronaldo is currently in Saudi Arabia training with Al Nassr Club. He could not attend the ceremony. Therefore, this player sent his thanks via video : "Thank you to all my teammates, who helped me win this noble title. I am also grateful to the coaches and everyone who has accompanied me to help me constantly improve myself."
Liga Portugal affirms that professionalism, competitive spirit and desire to win have shaped the “monster” C. Ronaldo, who left a legacy beyond mere statistics. CR7 has now scored 943 goals in his career, holding the record for the player with the most goals in the history of world football.
However, in the endless debate about the title of "greatest player", CR7 is often compared with his great rival Lionel Messi.
This year’s Liga Portugal Gala also marked many meaningful moments. The Federation paid tribute to the late FC Porto President and former Liga leader, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, with the award being accepted on his behalf by his son Alexandre Pinto da Costa.
In the Social Responsibility category, the Benfica Foundation was named. Meanwhile, former midfielder Pepe also received a prestigious award from Liga Portugal.

National team coach Roberto Martínez was presented with the Prestige Award. The Spaniard shared his pride at being the first foreign coach to win an international title for Portugal, and paid an emotional tribute to striker Diogo Jota, who died in a traffic accident in July: “We will continue to fight for Diogo’s unfulfilled dream, for all Portuguese people and for the future of the Portuguese national team.”
The Sports Achievement Award was given to three players Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, João Neves and Gonçalo Ramos, and Sporting Director Luís Campos, who work at PSG.
In the Hall of Fame category, two former players Nani and Ricardo Quaresma were honored, as symbols of the golden generation that left a deep mark in the history of Portuguese football.
