Ca Mau spends more than 940 billion to implement 2-session teaching/day

TPO - Ca Mau province has just issued a project to organize 2 sessions/day, boarding from kindergarten to high school in public schools across the province, with a total implementation cost of over 942 billion VND.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has just issued a decision approving the Project to organize 2 sessions/day, semi-boarding for public preschool and general education levels in the province. Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training (DoET) is assigned to implement and take full responsibility, not allowing any delay, waste, negativity, or group interests to occur.

Currently, the whole province of Ca Mau has 746 public kindergartens to high schools, of which more than 98% of public kindergartens and primary schools are teaching 2 sessions/day, and more than 44% of schools are organizing boarding; only 39% of secondary and high schools are teaching 2 sessions/day.

To organize teaching 2 sessions/day, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau said that it is necessary to build 126 additional classrooms at preschool and primary levels, more than 500 classrooms at secondary level and more than 460 classrooms at high school level (not including temporary and semi-permanent classrooms that need to be invested in).

Regarding boarding for students, preschool level in Ca Mau still lacks 127 bedrooms, primary level needs to build 237 bedrooms, not including the kitchen area.

Regarding the teaching staff, to implement teaching 2 sessions/day, the whole industry needs nearly 2,000 more teachers (685 more preschool teachers, 368 more primary school teachers, 298 more secondary school teachers, and 626 more high school teachers).

"When organizing 2 sessions/day, if boarding is not organized for the children, parents will have difficulty picking up and dropping off their children, affecting the daily life of the parents," said the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau.

Ca Mau plans that in the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years, the provincial budget will allocate over VND942 billion to implement 2-session/day teaching and boarding, so that 100% of public schools can implement the program.
