Nationwide, there are 491 failing high school graduation exams in 2024

Of which, Foreign Language is the subject with the most failing scores.

On the morning of July 17, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the 2024 high school graduation exam scores. According to the exam score data, this year's 10 points (10,958 points) decreased sharply compared to last year (16,427 10 points).

On the other hand, data shows that this year the whole country had 491 failing high school graduation exams.

According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who are eligible to take the exam, are not subject to disciplinary action to cancel their exam results, all exams and component subjects of the combined exam score above 1 point on a 10-point scale and have a graduation score of 5 or higher are recognized as high school graduates.

Accordingly, candidates with a score below 1 point in any exam are not eligible for graduation. This means that the failing score in the 2024 high school graduation exam is 1 point or below.

Specifically, the number of failing scores in the subjects are as follows: Math 62 exams, Physics 49, Chemistry 17, Biology 49, Literature 59, History 20, Geography 77, Civics 24, Foreign Language 134.

According to data from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2024, the whole country will have 1,067,391 candidates registered for the exam on the system (in 2023 it was 1,024,063). Of which, the number of independent candidates registered for the exam is 45,344 (in 2023 it was 37,841).

The provinces and cities with the most registered candidates include: Hanoi: 109,078 candidates; Ho Chi Minh City: 88,196 candidates; Thanh Hoa: 38,677 candidates. The provinces with the least registered candidates include: Kon Tum : 5,052 candidates; Lai Chau: 4,211 candidates; Bac Kan: 3,180 candidates.

This year, nearly 67,000 candidates are exempted from the 2024 High School Graduation Foreign Language Exam (accounting for 6.25% of the total number of candidates). The largest number of candidates are from Hanoi with 21,554 candidates; Ho Chi Minh City has 13,076 candidates.
