Reporter: The clip of you donating 1 billion VND to help flood victims in Nghe An really caused a stir. Is this new information?

-Singer Duy Manh: My friend Hien and I are the organizers of the program "Anh em ket doan", which will take place on August 8 at the Hanoi Museum Performing Arts Stadium. We decided to send 1 billion VND to the Nghe An Fatherland Front to help flood victims. The organizer of this program is also the organizer of the previous "Anh em ket doan" program, when the program contributed 3 billion VND to flood victims, attracting the attention of the audience before.

When I received the invitation from the organizers of this program, I immediately accepted and suggested to the organizers to send 1 billion VND to the Fatherland Front of Nghe An province in advance to help people in flood-hit areas, and then the show will be held on August 8.

I did not receive any performance fee. I only had one thing to discuss with the organizers, which was to advance 1 billion VND. The organizers were also very happy and responded to that.

And we went to Nghe An together and sent that money to the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

. Has anyone said that your conditions with the organizers are a bit "harsh" because after all, the producers and organizers still aim for profit?

- I don't know how other people work. But the organizers and I discussed in a happy spirit of cooperation. I made a request to transfer 1 billion to the Nghe An Fatherland Front. And I did not accept any salary. They were happy and agreed immediately.

And they also said, "If after the show, after deducting all expenses, there is a lot of revenue, the organizers will allocate more expenses to support people affected by the next storm and flood. I am satisfied with that."

Why do you force the production unit to send charity money before the program takes place instead of waiting until the program ends as usual?

- I want everything to be clear, especially when it comes to money. 15-20 years ago, there were charity programs that invited me to participate and called on the audience to contribute, but then specifically how much and to which fund? I didn't see the clarity. So I discussed with the organizers to advance 1 billion to promptly support the people in the flood area.

. Recently, your daughter - Cam - has just released a new EP that has caused a stir. Do you like Cam's music?

-To be honest, Cam's music is not my taste. The music of my time was a little sad. Of course, a little sad, but not tragic. The music of young people today is chill, cheerful and optimistic. But I must affirm that the music of young people today is quite civilized and modern.

There are two artists in the house, you and Cam are from two different generations, have you and Cam ever argued?

-Debate, not argue. I sometimes give my opinion and discuss with Cam, whatever Cam finds reasonable, I will listen. But there are also things I need to update and learn about the music of the younger generation.

In my opinion, being an artist requires freedom to feel happy and creative. Of course, that freedom must be within a permitted framework. Freedom to create and fly with your thoughts and ideas.

As Cam's father and senior, do you have any advice for him?

-My advice to Cam is that I just hope she will have fun and play with music. I hope Cam and her friends will have fun with music. Play music with the most innocence and passion. Don't set your goals too high. Just do the job you love with passion and enthusiasm. When you have enough capacity and prestige, other things will come naturally to you.

Do you and Cam have anything in common?

- Cam and I both have the mentality of "playing" with music. That helps us feel truly happy in our profession.

Do you have any new projects after "Mouse Dad"?

-"Bo Chuot" is just a joke product. I am preparing to release "Nguoi binh si cuong cuong", a song honoring the people's police force, those who sacrifice themselves for the peace of the country. This is a song I wrote from stories. I heard when my friends told me about their missions. Especially the soldiers on duty in the Northwestern border region.
