According to the reporter's records, from the beginning of 2025 until now, due to the impact of climate change, extreme weather, storms and floods appearing with high frequency, the sea's encroachment into the mainland is increasingly deeper, directly threatening the safety of essential infrastructure along the coast, especially at the coastal section adjacent to the built embankment to Quang Tho beach with a length of about 4.5km, the unreinforced coastline has eroded deeper into the shore compared to before the rainy season, about 10-20m, directly threatening and threatening the safety and stability of the coastal road and residential road in Bac Gianh ward.

Ms. Tran Ngoc Huong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Gianh Ward, Quang Tri Province, said: Due to the impact of storm No. 10, strong waves have impacted the edge of the residential road. If there is a strong storm, this road may be damaged and people will not be able to travel. If the landslide continues without a plan to maintain or build a dike, this sea dike will be seriously eroded and will affect the coastal road project being implemented in the ward.

In 2024, with the attention of the Government , the central ministries and branches have allocated 100 billion VND to invest in the construction and repair of 450m of the old embankment and build a new 1,395m of the sea embankment in Quang Phuc ward, old Ba Don town, now Bac Gianh ward, Quang Tri province.
The project has been completed and put into use, promoting high investment efficiency, going through the main flood season in 2024 and 3 storms in 2025 and still ensuring safety. However, due to limited funding, there are still about 4.5km of really urgent sea dike that have not been solidly invested, with erosion and landslides appearing in many locations.
Mr. Tran Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Tri province, said that in the recent natural disasters, especially after storm No. 10, some sea dikes without protection solutions were eroded, affecting the infrastructure inside.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment has also worked with other sectors and localities to inspect and make a master plan to research investments in order of priority. However, due to limited resources, solving this problem requires a lot of resources, Mr. Nam said.
