After 3 days off due to the effects of circulation after storm No. 10, on the morning of October 3, schools in Cao Bang province announced that students could return to school for schools that ensure teaching and learning conditions.
However, in many localities, localized flooding still occurs due to slow water drainage and traffic disruption.
In Duc Long commune, many low-lying areas of the hamlets: Thanh Cong, Doan Ket, Ban Moi, Ban Po are still flooded, many students cannot go to school. Receiving the report from the People's Committee of Duc Long commune, the Cao Bang Provincial Military Command mobilized 2 motorboats and 20 officers and soldiers to the area, coordinating with Duc Long Border Guard Station to support more than 70 students of Duc Long Primary and Secondary School to cross the flooded area to school safely.
“I was worried about taking my children to school this morning, but thanks to the soldiers, even though the water had not receded, the children were able to go to class safely. I am very grateful,” said Ms. Hoang Thi Xuyen (Ban Po hamlet, Duc Long commune) emotionally.
By the afternoon of October 5, some traffic routes in the province were still flooded because the floodwaters were slow to recede. The Provincial Military Command directed officers and soldiers to continue to maintain a standby force, ready to transport students in the following days, helping them not to interrupt their studies, while coordinating with local authorities to repair infrastructure and ensure smooth traffic.
