Player who knocked out referee banned indefinitely

The incident happened yesterday (January 9), within the framework of the Veteran Online Business Football Tournament season 23, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City, the match between Celadon An Phu and the Quang Ngai Business Team (DNQN).

In this match, after referee Le Tuan Kiet blew the whistle for a collision between players of the two teams, player Nguyen Hong Quang of the DNQN team rushed to fight with the referee.

After a while of arguing, Nguyen Hong Quang suddenly punched referee Le Tuan Kiet very hard in the face, causing the referee to stagger and fall to the ground. Hong Quang's teammates then had to intervene and separate the player from referee Le Tuan Kiet.

Referee Le Tuan Kiet, after a while of collapsing on the field, got up and gave Nguyen Hong Quang a red card. However, referee Le Tuan Kiet could not continue to control the match as the main referee, but had to change his duties to become the fourth referee, from the time he was hit until the end of the match.

Disciplinary notice of the tournament organizers.

Immediately after this action of Nguyen Hong Quang, today (January 10), the Organizing Committee (OC) of the tournament issued a notice banning player Nguyen Hong Quang from participating in all tournaments as well as activities of Doanh Nhan Online.

DNQN team was fined 10 million VND by the Organizing Committee as part of the compensation for the referee.

On the side of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF), representatives of HFF and the HFF Referee Board said they will issue an additional penalty, banning player Nguyen Hong Quang from playing indefinitely in all tournaments with the participation of referees of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation.

Referee Le Tuan Kiet is a referee of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation and has achieved the VFF referee level.
