Measurements show that the mango tree is 15m high, with a canopy of dozens of square meters, and a trunk large enough for 4-5 people to hug. More than 10 years ago, this ancient mango tree was recognized as a Vietnamese heritage tree.
Regarding cultural and historical values, according to museum documents, in 1680, Chinese immigrants migrated to the coastal areas of the Southwest to live. Some families came to Bac Lieu to settle.

Here, they saw a mango tree larger than a person could hug. This was a coastal area with salt water, but at the base of the mango tree there was an underground stream of fresh water that kept the tree green all year round.
After hundreds of years, the ancient mango tree is still green and flourishing, becoming a heritage tree and local tourist destination.
On one occasion, when he went with a friend to see a mango tree, Mr. Minh Luan (39 years old, living in Bac Lieu ward) said that he had never seen such a big mango tree before.

"The tree has a wide canopy and a very large trunk. My friend and I could hug it with both arms but could not reach half of the trunk. The mango tree has become a heritage tree and is also a very interesting local tourist attraction," said Mr. Luan.
