Approval to apply investor selection in special cases for 2 projects worth nearly 2.2 trillion VND under Long Thanh Airport Project

Accordingly, the Ministry of Construction approved the application of investor selection in special cases for the construction investment projects and aircraft maintenance services business No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 at Long Thanh Airport. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is the unit assigned by the Ministry of Construction to be the bidding party for the projects, responsible for preparing, appraising, and approving the request documents to ensure that they meet the specific requirements and conditions of the project, ensuring the selection of investors with sufficient capacity, experience, and solutions to implement the project to ensure the effectiveness of the business investment plan, land use efficiency, and overall development investment efficiency of Long Thanh Airport. Organize the selection of investors according to the approved plan.

The investment projects for construction and business of aircraft maintenance services No. 2, No. 3 and 4 at Long Thanh Airport are invested in and built to form an aircraft maintenance complex serving domestic airlines, ensuring national interests and meeting the operational requirements of Long Thanh Airport phase 1.

In terms of scale, the investment projects to build aircraft maintenance service facilities to meet the maintenance capacity at a time for at least 2 code E aircraft and 4 code C aircraft; build operating houses, install equipment systems and auxiliary items, and synchronous technical infrastructure to serve production and business.

Of which, the Project for Investment in Construction and Business of Aircraft Maintenance Services No. 2 has a preliminary total investment of about 645 billion VND, the land area for the project is about 3.9 hectares in area E-01 at Long Thanh Airport. Meanwhile, the Project for Investment in Construction and Business of Aircraft Maintenance Services No. 3 and No. 4 has a total investment of more than 1.5 trillion VND, the land area for the project is about 8.4 hectares in area E-01 at Long Thanh Airport.

Regarding progress, the projects have a construction investment period from 2025-2026 (basically completed in 2025); the project exploitation period is from the date of completion of investment work and putting into operation until December 31, 2050.
