Sesko completed his move to Old Trafford last week in a deal worth £66.3m, plus £7.4m in add-ons.

The former RB Leipzig player has preferred a move to Manchester United over Newcastle in the Premier League. This comes despite the Red Devils not being able to participate in the Champions League this season.

However, according to Sport, Sesko's move to England also made Barcelona feel "hurt".

The report said that the Nou Camp team really wants to recruit the Slovenian striker, because Sports Director Deco has conducted a thorough analysis of him.

Deco sees Sesko as a long-term replacement for veteran Robert Lewandowski, who is now 36.

The Polish striker has just one year left on his contract with an option to extend, with reports suggesting he will leave next summer.

Barca knows Sesko's ability well but does not have enough financial capacity to make a deal in the summer of 2025.

Therefore, Sesko's decision to join MU, instead of waiting until next year when the La Liga giant is ready to act, made Barca's leadership "heartbroken".

So far, Barca have only made one official signing this summer - goalkeeper Joan Garcia for £22 million.

They also borrowed Marcus Rashford from MU with a 26 million pound buyout clause next year.
