Waiting for the impressive performance of hundreds of giant Mid-Autumn lantern models in Tuyen Quang province

From September 20-27, the 14th Viet Bac Heritage Tourism Program and Thanh Tuyen Festival 2023 will take place in Tuyen Quang province with many activities that promise to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

2023 is the first year that Tuyen Quang province implements the Project to innovate the organization of Thanh Tuyen Festival in the period 2023-2025. The key objective of the project is to build and develop the Festival into a tourism product with national and international brands.

Although it was initially just a spontaneous activity of the people since the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2004, after nearly 20 years, the making of giant Mid-Autumn lantern models for children to parade on the streets has spread throughout the hamlets, villages, and residential groups of the city to the districts in the province. Over time, from a spontaneous activity among the people, it has been raised to the scale of the city, then the province, and there are more and more interesting activities, unique and attractive animal models.

When coming to the festival, visitors will be immersed in the bustling atmosphere here with interesting activities such as: "Capital of the liberated zone", "Capital of resistance". The festival also includes the Festival of Community Cultural Tourism Villages of 6 Viet Bac provinces; Film Program - Connecting Heritage and Tourism of Tuyen Quang; Trade - Tourism Fair of Tuyen Quang province; Program "Displaying and introducing the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine " and Hanoi Beer Festival 2023...

Over 20 years of formation and development, Thanh Tuyen Festival has been recognized by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records three times: "Mid-Autumn Festival with the largest number of lantern models in Vietnam", "Largest Mid-Autumn Festival tray in Vietnam", "Largest pair of lanterns in Vietnam".

The highlight of this year's Festival, at 8:10 p.m. on September 23, the program 'Thanh Tuyen Festival Night' with many special performances will take place at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Tuyen Quang city, and will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel, Vietnam Television.

According to the Festival Organizing Committee, the preparation process for the festival is being rushed to completion with a vibrant and colorful atmosphere throughout the streets. In addition, urban beautification, renovation and upgrading of accommodation facilities, food and beverage service businesses, entertainment are being urgently implemented, along with plans to ensure security, safety and food hygiene.
