Investors of 46 projects in Quang Ngai owe more than 185 billion VND in advance

On September 5, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province said that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had directed investors to urgently collect advance debts, especially debts that have been overdue for many years, to be submitted to the Department of Finance and the State Treasury before September 15, 2024.

19 investors with 46 projects and works have not yet refunded more than VND 185 billion in public investment capital even though the refund deadline is overdue.

Hoang Sa road project has been in use for nearly 10 years but the contractor still owes an advance payment of more than 4 billion VND.

According to the Quang Ngai Department of Finance, by the end of August 2024, Quang Ngai had 19 investors with 46 projects and works that had not yet refunded more than VND 185 billion in public investment capital even though the refund deadline was overdue.

Specifically, the dissolved investor group currently has 3 projects/3 investors, the Department of Transport, People's Committees of Binh Son and Tra Bong districts, owing 364 million VND.

The group of projects that have been postponed or not implemented includes 2 projects/2 investors, the Department of Health and the Provincial Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects, with a debt of nearly 6.4 billion VND.

The group of contractors is no longer active, with 7 projects/5 investors including the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, People's Committees of Son Ha, Tra Bong, Ba To districts and Duc Pho town, owing nearly 21 billion VND.

In particular, the project group is stuck with compensation and other reasons with 34 projects/12 investors such as: Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks, Department of Industry and Trade, Provincial Land Fund Development Center, Quang Ngai Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited, QISC Company and People's Committees of districts and towns... owing more than 158 billion VND in advance.
